Telekom Baskets Bonn missed the BBL finals, yet the season was still a success for the club. After being eliminated in the semifinals against defending champion Bayern Munich with a 0-3 sweep, the disappointment was palpable. In the first game in Munich (78-83), Bonn put up a strong fight, but the following games (69-91 and 57-77) ended in clear defeats. Shooting guard Joel Aminu commented after the game: "The Bayern were the better team throughout the series. We gave it our all, but they were just too strong. We hope to do even better next season." Despite the loss, fans in the Telekom Dome showed their appreciation for the team, celebrating the best season since 2022/23 when the Baskets won the Champions League. Following a major overhaul last season that ended in a disappointing 14th place, the team under coach Tuomas Iisalo performed significantly better this time around. Coach Marko Stankovic praised his players for their strong season and emphasized the team chemistry. "We found a way to be among the top four teams, which is a great success for us." The new signings, including Michael Kessens and Alijah Comithier, met expectations and played crucial roles in the success. The defense was strong, with Bonn achieving the best defensive rating in a decade and leading the league in offensive rebounds. Telekom Baskets Bonn looks forward with optimism, aiming to build on these successes in the upcoming season.
